Traditional process documentation describes how a process is expected to work. SAS is being structured so documentation can increasingly reflect how the process is actually configured and operating.
A future Generate process documentation action could combine:
- process steps and routes;
- systems, APIs, dataflows, and endpoints;
- decision matrices and policies;
- roles, tasks, and approvals;
- data classifications and sensitive-data controls;
- SLA, recent performance, and exceptions;
- evidence and changes since a previous version.
AI can help explain this structured information, but permissions, data classification, and policy must determine what may be included. This is product direction, not current delivered functionality.
