Product direction ยท 1.0
How policy, matrices, conditions, entitlements, and Operational Activities support control.
Product directionPolicies, matrices, entitlements, and platform controls are product direction.
A policy states what the organization expects and why. A decision rule or matrix turns that expectation into an outcome. A control checks whether reality still matches it.
Example chain
- Policy: sensitive functions require a managed secure device.
- Decision Matrix: role, location, and contract type determine the required device and applications.
- Entitlement: the employee should receive a specific managed laptop and access set.
- Automation: the required systems are updated.
- Operational Activity: the actual device and access are checked periodically.
- Evidence: the result, policy, approval, and deviation are recorded.
- Reporting: compliant allocations and exceptions are visible.
These components are part of the future control direction.
