SAS architecture

The relationship between Process Orchestrator, building blocks, Cloud Management, and external systems.

SAS component model

Runtime plane

A SAS runtime instance contains the product capabilities that execute work: the Composers, data and automation capabilities, collaboration, dashboards, and ultimately Process Orchestrator.

Management plane

The SAS Cloud Management Platform is a separate management and service-delivery plane above runtime instances. It is intended to manage organizations, tenants, environments, access, releases, lifecycle, usage, billing, AI credits, and partner or MSP scenarios.

External landscape

SAS connects to the systems and data the customer already has. Those systems remain responsible for their own core function; SAS adds the structured integration, process, control, and governance context around them.

Foundational capabilities

Policy and governance, AI control, audit and compliance, and security and access are platform-wide concerns. They are not isolated add-ons to one Composer.
